Rare video on Youtube!

You probably know Youtube can surprise us now and then... So today a friend sent me this link to a video of Yes at about 1970, with Bruford on drums and Kaye on keys, playing live in what seems an instrumental part of I See You, Then, or Yours is no disgrace... or none of them!
But I'm amazed at this short video, as almost all video footage of Yes pre-Yessongs is on playback and here they're playing live and wild.

At Youtube they say Howe is on the guitar, but I have my doubts. Do you think it's Howe or Banks? Please write a comment with your reasons.



PS: Another rarity I've recently seen on Youtube is another video of young Bill Bruford, this time with King Crimson playing Starless. Red (the last album of KC in the 70s) had no tour, but Starless was played in the band's tours from 1974, with different lyrics, with fiddle and without sax. Stunning video:

    I think you'd have to be (scarily) knowledgable about Yes to tell if it is Howe or not as there is not much to go on in the clip. The camera doesn't pan over the guitarist & the sounds are too 'spacey' to pick out a style. In fact if I'd just heard the sounds alone, I might have thought it a long lost tape from Middle Earth days!

    Judging by the way the guitarist is holding the guitar I would end to say this is Steve Howe. But I may be mistaken nobody's perfect

    amazing clip...and that is 100% steve howe..look behind bruford towards the end...i even recognise the costume he is wearing from photos of the time....as to the track...maybe everydays?

    I agree, though the era "smells" like Banks it's Howe's guitar rig and tape echoey "The Fish" sound. Must be very, very early Howe. Nice find.

    I would say it´s Steve Howe, look at the guitar, it´s a Gibson ES175 which is Steves signature guitar.

    Banks, for the style ... and more ... on the movie, he play guitar behind Bruford, with the intrument below the breast and Howe use the instrument on breast line.

    It is Howe trust me; it's a 175, it looks like him, and I recognize the style quite clearly (even a brief Close To The Edge octave semi-tone jump he's done a few times in various songs). Also I would say it's YIND middle jam part.

    I agree with the others it is Steve Howe you can tell by the way he his holding the guitar. I saw Yes with Peter Banks on guitar and he had a quite different style.

    It is Howe, absolutely. As everyone else said, you can see the 75 and Banks never had hair like that. Especially look at 1:00. Not to mention that sounds a lot more like Howe than Banks.

    its Steve howe this was around the time of the bootleg 2001 with steve howe he was using his delay pedal this way around this time and you can tell its a hollow body plain and simple it him
