1974 - The Tooleman presents Yessongs 2

Live at Madison Square Garden, New York City, Feb 18, 1974

Some Yes fans have commented on the blog thanking for the "full Tales experience" or, in other words, the chance of hearing the full Tales from Topographic Oceans played live on stage. To those, this bootleg is the holy grail.
Tooleman, one of the greatest Yes aficionados in the world, managed to get a tape with the full Tales played live in New York, in a very good sound quality. Bad news is the tape didn't contain the rest of the show (the whole Close to the Edge album and Roundabout). He did a wonderful job remastering the tapes, and they sound fresh and lively. You can hear the moog as if it were beside you!
It might be just my imagination, but they sound so interested in this evening... The Ancient is simply dazzling: Howe plays with all his soul, and Rick has a more important role than in the studio version.

the tooleman is the man...when i finally dug out all the wembley tapes me and steve had recorded..the tooleman was the only one i thought of to send the originals to, it was as simple as that........

he sent me this topographic show at the time and it really is the best of the lot.....whatever wakeman said at the time...and its rumoured that a lot of the keyboard work on the album is howe rather than rick..i think by the end of the topographic tour he was cottening on as to how great the music really was....i wonder if his solo career wasnt taking off so wildly if he might have stayed....
living through it at the time topographic seemed exactly the right direction for yes to me and the backlash against it by the press and some audience members who basically wanted to jump around to roundabout seemed pathetic to me but that combined with wakemans departure was the beginning of yes being derailed imo. going for the one...awaken and turn of the century aside...is the start of the rot that spreads through tormato and destroys the band.....they have never recovered in my eyes......

You should find a way of doing it by yourself and then, while uncompressing, type the password.
If you can't, you might copy the archive to a pendrive and uncompress it at someone else's computer.

As a lifelong Yes fan (zealot?) I can't thank you enough for posting these shows. Got hooked on the band around '73 (8 track era). First show for me was Relayer tour in Nashville Tn, '76 I think...awesome show with the full Roger Dean treatment.
